Chocolate and Caramel Covered Pretzels

Ingredients:

Pretzel Rods
Chocolate (Milk or Semi-sweet)
Caramel
Assorted Toppings: Sprinkles, Crushed Peanuts, M&M;'s, Toffee Pieces etc...

Directions:

Melt the Caramel in a microwave safe bowl (in short increments - stirring in between to ensure it doesn't burn). Dip Pretzel rods about 2/3 of the way into the caramel. Lay on parchment paper and allow to cool. Don't worry when the caramel puddles - we're not done yet! Once they cool begin to shape the caramel around the rods using the palms of your hands (see, I told you!).

Next, melt the chocolate until smooth (also in short increments). Dip the pretzel rods into the chocolate until it covers the caramel. Immediately dip into (or sprinkle on) the toppings. Place on parchment paper and allow to cool completely.

Serve on a platter or simply place a few in a clear bag and tie with a decorative ribbon and give as a gift!

Voila!
